Grandpa "O" Press Coverage (June 4, 1954)
The Sunday Arts and entertainment section of the Mobile Press Register ran its main column on June 4 about Grandpa O's career as a musician. In this picture, Claude Dahmer and Myrtle Peter from the music department of Murphy High School, pose with Grandpa. Dahmer (pronounced DAY-mer) was the retired band director of Murphy at this time. I had just graduated from 8th grade when this picture was made.
