McGill: Class of 1958
McGill: Class of 1958
These photos are now about a half-century old. If you are from the class of '58 and you don't find your picture here, I apologize. I did the best I could with the pictures, all of which came out of old McGillians. There is a place to comment at the bottom of each page.
Brothers Thaddeus and Stephen (October 1956)
Brothers Thaddeus and Stephen (October 1956)

I don't remember Brother Stephen at all, but Brother Thad made a lasting impression on me. I was scared to death of the man. (By the way, the building in the background is the old Bishop Toolen High School.) Brother Thad was strong enough to pick up a desk with the student in it. He was also tough enough to control schoolboy fist-fights in the following manner: once upon a time, Champ Metercord and Paul Delchamps conceived an enormous enmity against each other. In short, as I recall it, they were fighting on the school yard. Brother Thad caught them, but he didn't break up the fight. Instead he said: "O.K., you guys want to fight? Allons-nous!" So we all circled up, and Thad made these two guys fight until they were begging to quit. I hope I am somewhere near accurate in my memory of the foregoing incident.
