Cleaning out drawers and boxes and old cedar chests and the like, I continue to discover old photos. Just browse the album and add appropriate comments at the bottom of any of the photos. Warning! This album contains a few pictures of people we usually try to forget about -- you know, ex-wives, former in-laws, bratty kids, kidnappers, etc.

One of the ministries supported by Woodlawn Church was the Methodist Children's Home in Selma. Half a century ago it didn't occur to anyone that the picture of a little gamin-like waif sitting barefoot in what is clearly not pure white sand and what is clearly a picture of a dirty little girl -- it didn't occur to anyone in those distant days that the picture of a little cutie playing in dirt with an empty lard can for a sand pail might be the least bit disturbing and demeaning to the child.
